Dear Mariette,
Thank you for your inquiry. Regarding your questions:
1. Regarding use in an air purifier:
Important limitations and risks:
Fire hazard — Ethanol is highly flammable. Using it in purifiers with heating elements, UV lamps, or any spark-producing components is dangerous
Not designed for it — Most consumer HEPA or activated carbon purifiers are not designed for liquid inputs; adding ethanol could damage the unit or void the warranty. Please check the specification of the air purifier to see what sort of products can be used in the air purifier
Vapour inhalation — Breathing concentrated ethanol vapour continuously can cause respiratory irritation, headaches, and dizziness
Limited effectiveness — Ethanol doesn't filter particulates (dust, pollen, smoke), which is what most people need air purifiers for
2. Regarding the diffuser base scent: This product is an unscented base only, It does not have a fragrance of its own, other than a faint characteristic alcohol note. To turn this into a room spray or diffuser blend, it must be mixed with your chosen fragrance oils or essential oils. It serves as the carrier that helps your fragrance disperse and evaporate effectively.
